Located on Zhujiang East Road, Guangzhou Library is the cultural window of Guangzhou. In 2018, it was rated as a national first-class library by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, PRC. In 2016, the Guangdong Provincial People's Government announced that the library was a key protection unit of ancient books in Guangdong Province.
According to the information on the official website of the Library in November 2018, guangzhou Library covers an area of 21,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 98,000 square meters, 4,000 reading seats, 14 institutions and departments, and 295 employees. Guangzhou Library has a collection of 8.433 million volumes.
